Day Twenty Two

Monday, and that means one thing.... WEIGH DAY!!!!

Weigh Day!!!

I have put my smaller work trousers on today as my other trousers I kept treading on the bottom of as they were getting too loose!! lol - But I had forgotten that the zip is broken on these trousers and it slowly undoes itself, I need to remember to keep checking it...

Still feeling a bit bloated after the Indian last night! Hopefully that will have gone by weigh time! I might do Charlie Brooks DVD again tonight :) Maybe I should look into other workout DVDs as in 6 months time Charlie Brooks might get a bit boring, as she chats to her fitness coach on the DVD, I hear the same jokes every time I do it which is a bit annoying! They shouldn't be allowed to talk through the workouts! lol

6.30am Breakfast
I was getting bored of blueberries and blackberries with my breakfast, so I had chopped mixed nuts and linseeds with my natural yoghurt this morning.

Natural yoghurt with chopped nuts and linseeds
8.45am Pot of Green Tea

10.40am Snack
Granny Smith apple.

11am Pot of Green Tea

I'm not feeling so bloated now and I have a safety pin for my trousers! ;) Think I need to throw these in the bin when I get home!! lol

12.30pm Lunch
Ham Salad, lettuce, cucumber, tomato, celery and french dressing.

Ham salad
I got home feeling a bit bloated again, did my 55 minute Charlie Brooks workout then 10 minutes on the Wii Fit, thinking I must have lost at least 2lbs with ALL the exercising I have done over the past week, I get on the scales and I'm the same blooming weight that I was last Monday!!! So still at a 10lb loss! Not sure whether it is the huge Indian still lingering inside me, or if its the fact that muscle weighs more than fat?! The last two times I have done this diet, I didn't do as much exercise, so I probably wouldn't have noticed a weight increase due to muscles?! I was hoping the scales would say that I'd lost at least 2lbs so its a bit of a downer staying the same weight! I might weigh myself again in a couple of days (once the Indian has gone lol).

18.30pm Dinner
Chicken, red pepper, red onion, mushroom and hollumi cheese kebabs with mixed lettuce and a mug of Green Tea.

Chicken and veg kebabs

Sunday 30 January 2011

Day Twenty One

10am Breakfast
Bacon and mushroom Spanish omelette, kind of.

Bacon and mushroom omelette
I am off to my parents house later as its my Dad's birthday today and then we are off for an Indian (a low carb one for me!) tonight. I'll wait for my breakfast to go down with another Green Tea then do my Wii Fitness Coach today, have a shower, grab some lunch then head off to the parent's :) Think I'll do another bacon salad for lunch so I can take a photo this time :)

13.45pm Lunch
Late lunch today, and I couldn't eat it all! Bacon and brie salad, lettuce, cucumber, tomato, celery & primula and some French dressing. With a glass of fresh orange juice.

I had 2 mugs of Green Tea at my parent's house.

19.30-20.00pm Dinner
Indian!!!! Chicken Shashlick, mushroom bhaji, began bhaji, onion bhaji, mator panir? (cheesey peas) and a diet coke :) and a cup of tea.

Bit blurry dinner :)

Saturday 29 January 2011

Day Twenty

Saturday today, and a lazy one at that! I got out of bed about 10am, so had breakfast about 10.15am.

Breakfast 10.15am
3 rashers of back bacon and scrambled eggs (from 2 eggs) with a mug of Green Tea.

Bacon and eggs - low carb breakfast ;)
12.30pm Mug of Green Tea

I want to finish knitting my fingerless gloves today as well as order some wool (now I've been paid) for some other knitting projects :)

I've just realised its lunch time, so I best get my left over Ali Baba meat out the fridge! :) Not sure how long kebab meat lasts in the fridge! lol

13.45pm Lunch
Left over chicken and shish kebab meat with mixed lettuce.

Saturday's Lunch
14.15pm Pot of Green Tea

I have done 55 minutes of the Charlie Brooks workout DVD and am drenched lol!! I need to get washed up as just been invited round the Henry's tonight :)

19.00pm Dinner
Bacon salad, lettuce, cucumber, tomato, celery & primula cheese with a small amount of French dressing. I forgot to take a picture of it though! With a mug of Green Tea.

I had a Green Tea and a water around the Henry's too.

Friday 28 January 2011

Day Nineteen

Friday is finally here again!! WOOOO! Not sure what there is to look forward to though (Except not being at work!!), as I am staying in for most of the weekend, except for Sunday night when I am out for an Indian for my Dad's birthday  - a low carb one of course! :) It is also pay day today, so I can finally buy my Dad something for his birthday. As it is pay day, I am also going to treat myself to an Ali Baba Special kebab tonight. If I don't eat the pitta bread, its another low carb meal! ;) I lost 2lbs last year the day after I had one!!

6.30am Breakfast
Natural yoghurt, blueberries, linseeds and a mug of Green Tea.

I also have some Camembert  cheese at home that I might have for lunch. I normally have baked Camembert with fresh bread, but there are waaay too many carbs in bread, so I normally find some tortilla wraps (I choose the ones with the least amount of carbs) and I grill them a bit, so they aren't so floppy and I dunk them in the Camembert when it has baked :) YUM

Baked Camembert Cheese
8.45am Pot of Green Tea

11am Snack
Granny Smith apple

14.00pm Lunch
Baked Camembert cheese with white and wheat tortillas (they had the lowest carb content of all the tortilla wraps on the shelf).

Lunch - Camembert and tortilla wraps

I cleaned the flat today and did the Charlie Brooks workout, so I have done well over an hour of exercise today!! woo :)

17.00pm Mug of Green Tea

19.00pm Dinner
My pay day treat... an Ali Baba special kebab, 4 kinds of meat and lots of salad. Normally when I order the special it all comes in one container, the size of the one on the left, but today it came in two, and there was LOADS of meat!!! lol

My HUGE Ali Baba special!!! LOL
I was good though and didn't eat ALL that meat, I just ate the doner meat and the shish. What is pictured below has gone in my fridge (well, the meat has. The onions went in the bin)

I couldn't eat it all! (I shouldn't have tried to either!)
19.45pm Mug of Green Tea

Thursday 27 January 2011

Day Eighteen

6.30am Breakfast
Natural yoghurt, blueberries and linseeds with a mug of Green Tea.

Feeling better today after exercising last night. Its amazing what 30 minutes of exercise can do to how you feel the next day!! (Never thought I'd say that!!! lol)

I put my ribs in the slow cooker this morning, coated them in a madras dry marinade last night. I also added some water to the slow cooker as I was worried the ribs would dry out in there! We'll see how it looks later, I'll try and pop home before my doctor's appointment that I have finally made about my shoulder at 16.40pm. I fractured my clavicle (shoulder bone) in 2005 I think it was and it still hurts every now and then and I think my should has dropped too.

How my clavicle looked
8am Pot of Green Tea

10.30am Pot of Green Tea

I haven't had time to eat my apple today, work has been manic!!!

12.30pm Lunch
Cheese and ham salad with cucumber, lettuce, tomato, celery, spring onion and french dressing.

Cheese and Ham Salad
13.15pm Pot of Green Tea

I only managed to fit in 15 minutes on the Wii Fit tonight after the doctors, but some exercise is better than none! I'll do more tomorrow cleaning the flat and then a Charlie Brooks dvd session. :) The doctor said that it is quite normal for my shoulder to hurt as where it broke there is a bit of a lump on my shoulder which is quite close to the skin. I also asked about my toe that feels like it clicks out of place every now and then, she examined it and tried to get it to click out of place herself and as she couldn't, she said that it can't be dislocating itself as she'd be able to do it if that's what it was doing. She suggested it might be a ligament or a tendon moving that is causing the pain, and when it feels like I am clicking my toe back into place, I am actually moving the tendon! She suggested taking a photo of when it feels out of place and maybe strapping that toe to the toe next to it when I walk in flat shoes (which is when it normally happens).

18.00pm Dinner
Pork ribs, dry rubbed with a madras marinade then cooked in the slow cooker while I was at work. I coated them in a sweet chilli sauce (not sure on the carb content) then cooked them under the grill for 10 minutes, turning once. I didn't think they would fill me up, so I did a bit of hollumi cheese with it.

Ribs and Hollumi

Day Seventeen

I am feeling as if I shouldn't have skipped a workout last night as I am feeling a tad bloated today. Might be from all the blue cheese I have eaten lately though? I brought a rack of ribs last night, so will look for some low carb pork ribs recipe ideas today :) - Nothing with blue cheese though lol

6.30am Breakfast
Natural yoghurt with blueberries, linseeds and a mug of Green Tea.

8.15am Pot of Green Tea

After searching the net for an easy ribs recipe, it looks like I will have to have ribs tomorrow as instead of being a quick under the grill food, it appears they need to be slowly cooked to make the meat tender. I have posted the recipe that I will use tomorrow, I will have to try and find some kind of low carb sauce for the ribs before grilling as I don't have any. Luckily I have that chilli in the freezer that I froze the other week to have instead :)

Pork Ribs Recipe

Things You'll Need:

  • 2 1/2-lb. slab of baby back ribs
  • Dry meat rub
  • 4-qt. or 5-qt. slow cooker
  • Barbecue sauce
  • Broiler
  • Cutting board
  • Sharp knife

Coat the surface area of the ribs with a dry meat rub of your choice. Ensure that all of the meat is covered, and then roll the ribs up and put them into the slow cooker.

Put the lid on the slow cooker, and set the heat to low. Allow the ribs to cook undisturbed for 9 to 10 hours.

Remove the ribs from the slow cooker. Lift them out slowly and gently, as the meat should be falling off the bone.

Brush the meaty side of the ribs with a barbecue sauce of your choice. Choose a flavor that complements the flavor of the meat rub for best results.

Lay the ribs across a broiler rack, meat side up. Set the broiler to high, and allow the ribs to cook for 7 to 8 minutes. If a broiler is not available, the ribs can be seared, meat side up, on a gas grill set to high heat for 7 to 8 minutes.

Remove the ribs from the broiler or grill, and place them on a cutting board. Carve the ribs with a sharp knife, and serve immediately.

12.30pm Lunch

Cheese Salad again with lettuce, cucumber, tomato, cheddar cheese, celery and the lowest carb salad dressing that I could find on the shelf! Tesco's Healthy Eating French Dressing.

Day Seventeen's Lunch
I did 30 minutes on my Wii Fitness Coach when I got in from work; the cardio workout and think I pulled something in my lower back, I have a hot water bottle on it at the moment.

18.00pm Dinner

Chilli con carne with grated cheddar cheese.

Tuesday 25 January 2011

Day Sixteen

Feeling good again today as I found myself having to 'hitch up' my trousers as I was walking to my office as they have become rather loose where I have lost weight!!! :D Time to dig out some smaller trousers from the cupboard I think! WOOOOP! I've lost a whole ten pounds!!! I'm into double figures now! Think I still have about 20lbs to go though, so I'm a third of the way there! ;)

6.30am Breakfast
Natural yoghurt and blueberries with linseeds and a mug of Green Tea

Low carb cartoon! lol
8.15am Pot of Green Tea

10.30am Snack
Pink Lady apple.

Last night when I was doing my workout DVD I gave my cat a woodlouse to play with as she normally get impatient when I am exercising because she wants my attention, she doesn't like it when I am walking around the flat and not sitting down so she can jump on my lap! lol The woodlouse kept her entertained for a good half an hour, so it was a good plan! I think there was something wrong with it as the normally curl up in a ball to protect themselves, so it kept her entertained by running about until it stopped moving...

Woodlouse (not my cat's one)
 11.15am Pot of Green Tea

12.30pm Lunch
Cheese salad again with lettuce, tomato, cucumber, celery and linseeds.

Cheese Salad
Chicken and something for dinner, I'll have to see what is in my freezer as money is tight at the mo! Need more yoghurt, lettuce, cheese and petrol yet too!

18.00pm Dinner
Butterflied chicken filled with dolcelatte cheese and wrapped in bacon served with roasted vegetables.

Day Sixteen's Dinner
I haven't done any exercise today!! :-O - The first time in 2 weeks! Thought I was due a rest, plus I want to finish knitting my gloves as its getting cold again! :)

Monday 24 January 2011

Day Fifteen

Is it Monday already?!

6.30am Breakfast
Natural Yoghurt with blackberries and linseeds and a mug of Green Tea.

8.30am Pot of Green Tea

10.45am Snack
Pink Lady apple.

OK, I know its not a nice topic, but I have finally had a 'clear out'!! :D I knew one of my Mum's roast dinners would sort me out! woo! :) Maybe today's last daily (before it becomes weekly) weigh-in will be a positive one now that I have unblocked and don't feel so bloated now lol

12.30pm Lunch
Cheese Salad. Cheese with lettuce, tomato, cucumber, celery and a teaspoon of linseeds.

Day Fifteen's Lunch - Cheese Salad
I didn't have my usual 3rd pot of Green Tea today, not sure why.

I was feeling good, so as soon as I got home I got my Charlie Brooks workout dvd out, and did the 55 minutes on that, then decided to weigh myself without doing a Wii Fit Board workout today and the scales said I'd lost another pound!!!! :D

Had to zoom out to fit the whole chart in :)
6.30pm Dinner
Butterflyed chicken filled with Danish blue cheese and topped with pepperoni, served with the leftover cauliflower cheese and a mug of Green Tea :)

Dinner Day Fifteen! - Lots of cheese!!!

Sunday 23 January 2011

Day Fourteen

Why am I up so early on a Sunday?! Trying to decide what to have for breakfast today. I'm thinking scrambled egg and something, but what? I think I'll have a quick look on google.

7.45am mug of Green Tea

I've just had a quick look on google, and I might try one sausage and some mushrooms with my scrambled egg, that's if I didn't throw the frozen sausages away! Lol

8.40am Breakfast
Mushrooms, scrambled eggs and one sausage. I cooked the mushrooms and scrambled egg in the microwave, did the mushrooms first in some butter, put the mushrooms on my plate then scrambled the eggs into the melted butter and mushroom juice and they came out so fluffy! :) Then the sausage was cooked in my George Foreman grill :) with a mug of Green Tea.

Day Fourteen Breakfast
10.30am Mug of Green Tea

12pm Mug of Green Tea

13.10pm Lunch
Cheese(Brie,  Danish blue, Dolcelatte and Primula) , grapes, 3 slices of pepperoni and celery with the chestnut and rum chutney. (was very filling again!) and a mug of Green Tea.

Day Fourteen's Lunch
I have done 15 minutes on My Fitness Coach and 22 minutes on the Wii Fit today. I beat my high score on the 6 minute Super Hula.

6 Minute Super Hula Result
And my weight has decreased a little again. I think after tomorrow's 2 week weigh I will start weighing myself weekly, I'll still record my daily and exercise, I just won't weigh myself until every Monday.

Day Fourteen's Weightloss Chart
OK, so I went round my parent's for dinner for one of my Mum's roast dinners and I forgot to take a picture for my blog. :(

18.30pm (ish) Dinner
Roast chicken with brussels, cabbage, runner beans, a tiny portion of stuffing and gravy. YUM I also had about 3 mugs of Green Tea and a glass of diet coke.

A Roasted Chicken (not the one I had)

Saturday 22 January 2011

Day Thirteen

Oh dear, not Day Thirteen!! Its an unlucky number, so what's the betting the scales aren't kind to me today?! lol

Its 11.30am and I have only recently finished breakfast (or brunch) again, so it looks like fruit for a late lunch then. I had another teaspoon of linseeds this morning as I still haven't 'been' :/

11.10am Breakfast
Mushroom, cheese and 2 slices of pepperoni omelette with a mug of Green Tea. I didn't do as much filling as the photo I posted yesterday.

Day Thirteen's Breakfast
I have also started taking Adios Max* today. I have had them for a while, but always forget to take them! lol

* Adios and Adios Max are effective, natural, herbal medicines which help speed up weight loss by acting on the body's metabolism (helping to speed up the rate at which your body converts fat in your body into energy). When taken as part of a calorie-controlled diet with exercise, this can lead to weight loss.

2.35pm Lunch (Late Lunch)
Just some fruit. Grapes, blackberries and blueberries. I still need to pop out and get some milk for my low carb cauli cheese! I bet they have sold out at my little shop now, but I'll have a look when I have finished my fruit :)

Fruit For Lunch
OK, I've just done my 55 minutes with the Charlie Brook workout DVD...

An interval clip between workouts they show
Then I did about 13 minutes on the Wii Fit, beating my score yet again on the Step Plus workout:

Step Plus Score - Day Thirteen
Then I closed my eyes as I stood on the Wii Board waiting for the weigh-in results, being the thirteenth day, and with yesterday's results I wasn't expecting much.... but they said I'd lost a pound again woo!! (I did have a little poo earlier) So its back to 9lbs lost so far! still a couple of days until the 2 week weigh-in to see how much I have lost in 2 weeks :)

Day Thirteen Weightloss Chart
I've been invited round my parents tomorrow for a roast dinner, which will just be meat and veg on my plate while I watch the rest of my family enjoy roast potatoes and yorkshire pudding! :( lol I'll make sure my Mum doesn't put too much on my plate though to keep my portion size down :)

19.00pm Dinner
Low carb cauliflower cheese! (recipe posted on Day Twelve) I didn't eat it all, I have put some in a tub to have another day :) I'm rather full now too and it was mainly cheese and veg woop!

Low Carb Cauliflower Cheese

Friday 21 January 2011

Day Twelve

Yey its Friday again! Today my cat has her yearly booster jab at the vets! Thats going to be a workout in itself chasing her around my flat to get her in her carrier! lol

I want to do a Charlie Brooks workout once I have got back from the vets and my flat is nice and clean. She said two to three times a week is how often you should do her work out, so I'll do one today and then either another on Saturday or Sunday too. The workout is about an hour long, so its better to do it when I have more time.

6.30am Breakfast
Natural yoghurt with blackberries and linseeds with a mug of Green Tea.

I forgot to but any bacon yesterday so I might do a cheese and mushroom omelette for breakfast tomorrow? (I did purchase a LOT of cheese yesterday hehe). The one pictured below has peppers and spring onions in it too, I have some spring onions left from yesterday, so I could use them too. It does look very filling! :)

8.20am Pot of Green Tea

I have some frozen cauliflower in my freezer, so was just looking into some low carb cauliflower cheese recipes and found this:

Alternative cauliflower cheese

Classic cauliflower cheese uses flour to make a bechamel sauce.
Break up the cauliflower into florets and cook (steaming for 15 minutes is a good way. I use a collander type steamer over a pan of water.)

Beat 2 eggs into half a pint of milk or cream. add a teaspoon of made English mustard and mix in an ounce of grated strong cheddar cheese. Season. Pour this custard over the cauliflower in an oven proof dish. Sprinkle some more strong gated cheese ove and bake at 190 C for 35 minutes. The cheese topping should be bubbling.
Carb count is negligible.

I absolutely LOVE cauliflower cheese, so might pop out and get some skimmed milk at the weekend or cream if my little shop doesn't have milk as I have the rest of the ingredients :) WOOP! LOW CARB CAULI CHEESE!!!! :)

11.15am Snack
Pink Lady apple

Looking forward to my cheese and grapes for lunch before the trip to the vets!

12.45pm Lunch
Its cheese and grapes time!!! With some chestnut and rum chutney from the chestnut festival in Switzerland :) - No, I didn't eat all of it! Cheese is quite filling you know!

Friday's Lunch
Exercise time! I did 55 minutes of Charlie Brooks workout DVD and then 21 minutes on the Wii Fit. I did the highest Super Hula Hoop again today which is 5 mins circling to the right then 5 to the left and I beat my highest score :)

3289 spins! woooo

Can you believe that the scales said that my weight has increased a little!!! :( :( - My first weight increase!! :(

Day Twelve's Weightloss Chart

Not actually sure why, although it could have been the cheese? But I'm sure I had cheese last time I did this diet and didn't put on weight. Come to think of it, it might be because I haven't 'been' in over a day, so all the food I have eaten is still stored up inside me? (sorry, bit gross lol) I have just eaten a teaspoon of linseeds with a glass of water as they are high in fibre ;)

6pm Dinner
Yesterday's chicken stir fry re-heated :) Eaten out of the tub and with chopsticks! - yum :)

Thursday 20 January 2011

Day Eleven

I have just noticed that I didn't eat my Pink Lady apple yesterday! I'll have that today instead :) I had a look in the mirror this morning and can gladly say that my 'muffin top' isn't as bad as the one I posted yesterday! lol Maybe my trousers have got a had looser or something, but I'm sure it was worse than it looked this morning!

6.30am Breakfast
Same as yesterday, used the last of my blackberries today so I need to do a food shop! I also don't have any salad left. I think I'll get some bacon and tinned tomatoes as well for my breakfast treat at the weekend. Its good to treat yourself on a diet, I know I am allowed bacon and eggs on the low carb diet, but it feels like a treat ;) I like to have something different from salad for lunch on Fridays too as I finish at lunch time. I'm thinking cheese and grapes for lunch tomorrow? (As pictured, but without the wine as booze is a no no).

Possible Friday Lunch?
8.15am Pot of Green Tea

10.30am Snack
Pink Lady apple

Pink Lady apple (taken with iphone 4)
11.20am Pot of Green Tea

12.30pm Lunch
Chicken salad, cucumber lettuce tomato (no chillis or linseeds today)

13.15pm Pot of Green Tea

When I got home I went straight on My Fitness Coach, here she is:

My Wii Fitness Coach
I did 15 minutes with the fitness coach then 15 minutes on the Wii Fit, and today the scales said...

Day Eleven's Weightloss Chart
I really didn't expect to have lost 3lbs over the last 2 days as the rate of losing weight normally slows down after the first week so I am quite impressed :)

18.15pm Dinner

Chicken Stir Fry (low carb of course)

Ingredients
Chicken
Beansprouts
Garlic
Snap peas (think thats what they are called lol)
Asparagus
Spring Onions
Mushrooms

In the frying pan.

Chicken Stir Fry

This portion size is way too much for one meal, even though I'd normally scoff the lot in one go! So I decided to be good and put some in a tub for tomorrow...

Washed down with some Green Tea.
